What if the life you are trying to build was never meant to look like someone elseβs?
It is easy to measure your progress against people around you. Someone gets a better job, reaches a goal faster, buys something you cannot afford, or seems to have life figured out. Without realizing it, you start believing that you are falling behind.
But comparison often ignores one important fact: you are not starting from the same place.
Your abilities, circumstances, resources, experience, and pace are different. Following another personβs standard may make your life look successful from the outside while leaving you exhausted on the inside.
You do not need to move at someone elseβs speed. You need to understand what you can realistically handle and build from there.
Walking according to your own ability does not mean accepting weakness or refusing to grow. It means knowing your current limits while continuing to expand them. You can aim higher without pretending to be someone you are not.
Some seasons will require you to move quickly. Others may require patience, preparation, or simply surviving a difficult period. None of these automatically make you less successful.
The real danger is not moving slowly. It is abandoning your own path just because someone else appears to be ahead.
So stop asking whether your life looks impressive compared with others. Ask whether the person you are becoming is stronger, wiser, and more honest than the person you were yesterday.
